About C.L.I.T. Fest 2005

C.L.I.T. (Combatting Latent Inquality Together) Fest brings together music and workshops in Minneapolis to celebrate the contributions of women to the punk community, address problems of sexism (both overt and latent), and consider shifting ideas of gender within the punk movement—and the greater society.

Brought to you by The B.R.E.A.S.T. Brigade

The B.R.E.A.S.T. (Belligerant Revolutionaries Enraged Against Sexist Tyranny) Brigade is a multi-gendered group of people, who are active in the punk rock community of the Twin Cities area. We are a collectively run, all-volunteer organization which identifies not only with the punk movement, but also with activism and feminist ideals.

Our goals are to combat sexism and destroy inquality in the punk community and the world beyond. We actively seek to educate, empower, encourage, and engage in dialogue in an effort to achieve this. Most of all, we hope to accomplish this while setting a fun example, celebrating resistance to inequality, and inspiring others.

Since our formation in the spring of 2004, we successfully organized the first C.L.I.T. Fest and continue to promote events to further our goals. We continue to spread the idea of safer spaces in homes, communities, workplaces, and schools. We feel that inquality is a problem that affects everyone, therefore everyone must participate in creating a solution.
